Top Ten Hiking Tips for Women Who Love To Hike:
Wear the right shoes.
There is nothing worse than going on a hike and realizing halfway that your feet are killing you because of the wrong type of shoe. If possible, go to a store and try out different types before purchasing them so you know what feels best for long treks through nature. You can also purchase footwear with cushioning or support if need be!
The weather can change quickly while hiking in unfamiliar territory, so it’s not always easy to predict just how hot/cold it will actually be when we get there. For this reason, it’s important to dress in layers clothing you wear on a hike is important. You want to make sure it’s appropriate for the weather, so that if it suddenly gets cold or hot out (which can happen!) then your body is prepared.
Make sure to bring snacks and water.
If you’re going hiking with children, make sure to bring snacks and water. You never know how much energy they’ll have or when their next meal will be!
Bring a map of the area.
so that everyone in your group knows where they are this is important if someone gets lost for whatever reason because it could be difficult to find them without one!
Always let someone at home know where you plan on going.
Before leaving just in case something happens while you’re out there like losing your way back (might not sound likely but anything can happen!) In addition, always carry an extra set of clothing and food supplies until we get back safely.
The best time to hike varies depending on what’s available nearby you’re on the trail or in case you don’t make it back.
It’s important to take breaks your body needs them!
Hiking can be a strenuous activity, so it’s impossible to go for an hour straight without needing a break just try and spread out your rest time as much as possible while still getting where you need to go. If there aren’t any easy ways off of the trail (like stairs), then plan on taking rests every 20 minutes or so. This will help keep you energized throughout the hike!
Bring something that helps with blisters if they happen.
Blister prevention is good too but if anything happens, having gauze and bandaids/plasters could save your life , just take a break and drink plenty of water.
When hiking, be sure to stick to the path.
This will help you stay on track as well as avoid any unexpected problems that might arise from straying off course (like getting lost).
Bring along some protection for yourself in case there are bugs or other animals around like a netting if it’s really bad out there!
There is no reason not to have these things with you so go ahead and do it now while we’re still at home before making our way out into nature.
Be aware of your surroundings.
lookup every once in a while when you can’t see anything ahead make sure that nothing dangerous is coming towards us or waiting near where we’re going.
Don’t forget to pack your snacks and plenty of water .
You never know when our bodies will need a little something to keep them going, so it’s best that we’re prepared for anything!
If possible, go with another person who knows their stuff about backpacking
So we can have some extra help should things get dicey along the way. Even better would be two people who love exploring nature together because then it wouldn’t be boring we could chat about everything under the sun and then some.
Keep your eyes peeled for any wildlife
they might not seem like much at first but who knows what kind of surprises await us out here? It’ll be worth our while just knowing how many different types live around these parts!
Don’t overburden ourselves with too much when all we need is to have enough clothes and food so that nothing comes between having fun exploring nature on foot!
Be mindful of snakes hiding behind logs or rocks.
They’re not to be trifled with our boots might give them the edge they need to do us in!
Beware of cliffs.
we have to keep a close eye on where we walk and what will happen if one slip turns into two. Though it’s tempting, don’t take any chances go back down instead or find an alternative route around that cliff face.
We must pay attention when going up hills.
Because they can get really steep without warning! Let’s stop every now and then so that our heart rate doesn’t skyrocket too high when tackling these inclines. No climbing or scrambling either let’s put all feet firmly on ground level before proceeding onward ^^
Be mindful about being tired as well.
There are times when it’s ok to stop and take a break so that we don’t find ourselves in an emergency situation.
Don’t worry too much about what might be lurking behind those trees or bushes!
If they are there, then they’re probably not going to hurt you but if they do suddenly pop out of nowhere, make sure to yell “Hey!” really loudly at them before running the other way like your life depended on it ^^; Keep hiking though because this is for our health after all 🙂
